Overview:
-What is RegWatch?
->RegWatch is used to show users what programs are being loaded at startup from the Registry.
-Top-

-What is the Registry?
->The registry is a place where programs store information (instead of using normal files). Viruses and trojans will use the registry to attempt to fool non computer savvy users by loading themselves in difficult to find registry keys (without their knowledge of course).
-Top-

-What makes RegWatch useful?
->RegWatch will eliminate the need to use registry editors such as Regedit, and will display all running applications in one neat window. From this window, users have the option to scan files, and delete startup registry entries at the click of a button.

WARNING: Editing the Registry is considered an advanced computer skill. Do not use any "guess and shoot" methods to "clean" the Registry (deleting Registry entries without knowing what the program is; or deleting because you don't think you need it). Windows REQUIRES some of these Registry entries to be there in order to start up normally! Take extreme caution when deleting entries!

Description of Features:

Refresh
: This will find all programs that are starting up using the Registry (as well as the 'secret' methods used by popular trojans such as Sub7). Sentinel will automatically warn you of any new or modified registry entries (in the list below).

Check for Modifications/Deletions on Reboot: This will refresh the list with files that will be Modified, Renamed or Deleted on reboot. Usually these files will be the result of a newly installed program (the ones that ask you to Restart your computer before they work). Some viruses or trojans may use this feature in Windows to maliciously overwrite or delete system files. This feature watches for modifications from both WinInit.ini and the Registry.

Delete Key: This will delete the selected key from the Registry (take extreme caution).
-Top-

Scan File for Viruses: This will scan the selected file for viruses. Files that turn up as infected should be removed from the registry immediatelly.
-Top-

Scan & Update Warnings: This will scan all of the new and modified Registry Entries that Sentinel detects; then it will update the Registry.dat file (so they won't come up as 'new' or 'modified' in the future).
